Volunteer

The heart of the program is the volunteers who unselfishly donate their time. Each week, fifty dedicated individuals, in teams of two, deliver the meals. Using Meals on Wheels vehicles, the volunteers pick up meals at the hospitals in specially designed "hot boxes" and deliver them to the recipients' homes.

They also provide a daily contact with the client, reporting any problems they may encounter. If for any reason the client does not answer the door, a call is made to the office so that the staff can make sure every thing is fine. This is a very important service to the client and his or her family.

We are willing to coordinate compatible schedules with couples, college students and even other organizations that would like to volunteer their time to help make a difference.
