Give a neighbor a hot meal and a daily check-in.

Clients pay a weekly fee, but it covers only about half of what it costs to prepare, pack and deliver their meals. Gifts from people like you cover the rest: vans, fuel, insurance, supplies and the small staff that keeps six routes running.

Funded by our community, not the government

Meals on Wheels of Evansville is not a federally funded program and does not receive federal funding. Every meal we deliver is made possible by donations and local grants. Your gift goes directly to feeding neighbors in need.

  • Local. We're an independent Evansville nonprofit, so your gift feeds Evansville neighbors.
  • Lean by design. Our office space is donated, and about 50 volunteers do the driving.
  • Tax-deductible. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 23-7076022.

The Noon Club

Keep lunch coming every month, not just in November.

We send one fundraising letter a year. Meals go out about 250 weekdays a year. Monthly donors, our Noon Club, keep the routes running in between.

  • $16 a month is about a week of meals and check-ins for one neighbor, every month of the year.
  • Tax-deductible, with a receipt for your records (EIN 23-7076022).
  • Change or cancel anytime with one phone call to (812) 476-6521.

How the meals get paid for

In 2024, it cost about $243,000 to run Meals on Wheels of Evansville and deliver roughly 33,000 meals. Client fees brought in just under half of our revenue. The rest came from donors, grants and the City of Evansville's Community Development Block Grant.

Giving questions

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. Meals on Wheels of Evansville, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 23-7076022). You'll get a receipt for your records.

Can I change or cancel a monthly gift?

Anytime. Call (812) 476-6521 and we'll update it.

How did you figure out what my gift provides?

We divide what it costs to run the program by the meals we deliver, then subtract what clients pay. What's left is roughly $16 a week for each client, and that's the gap your gift fills.

Is this the same as SWIRCA's senior meals program?

No. We're a separate, independent Evansville nonprofit, and the only local program that delivers to people of any age. Gifts made here support Meals on Wheels of Evansville.
