For discharge planners, case managers & physicians

Sending a patient home who can't cook yet? We'll bring lunch.

We deliver physician-ordered, dietitian-supervised hot meals Monday through Friday to Evansville patients of any age. Clients can be short-term after surgery or long-term, and every delivery includes an in-person wellness check.

Why clinicians refer to us

No age minimum

The only home-delivered meal program in Evansville that serves adults of every age, including younger post-surgical and injured patients.

Diet matches the order

Meals are prepared under the supervision of Deaconess and Ascension St. Vincent dietitians, to the diet you prescribe.

Eyes on your patient

If a client doesn't answer the door, volunteers alert our office and staff follow up with the client and their emergency contacts.

Referral questions

Who can sign the physician page?

A physician or a nurse practitioner. They confirm the patient needs help with meals and order the diet on page 2 of the client application.

How quickly can meals start after discharge?

Once we receive the application and our director approves it, meals can start within two days. For a time-sensitive discharge, call (812) 476-6521 so we can plan ahead.

Is there an age requirement?

No. We serve adults of any age who can't shop or cook for themselves, whether that's for a few weeks after surgery or long term.

What does it cost the patient?

From $20 a week for five hot meals, billed monthly. Patients can choose to pay $22 or $25 to help cover costs. If cost is a concern, the family can call our Program Coordinator.

What happens if the patient doesn't answer the door?

The volunteer calls our office, and staff follow up with the client and their emergency contacts.

Partner with us

Our routes reach homebound neighbors every weekday. That makes us a way for other organizations to reach them too.

Deliver alongside meals

Like EVPL's library books.

Health outreach

Past partners brought flu shots (Visiting Nurses) and food bags (Tri-State Food Bank).

Corporate gifts and grants help pay for our vans, fuel, insurance and supplies.
